Watch out, because according to the American mixer manufacturer Blendtec, the Blendtec Pro 800 (here on offer) is probably the most powerful and quietest mixer for private use – worldwide. So what could be nicer for us than testing such a device?

At first glance, our test object Blendtec Professional 800 rightly reminds you of the Stealth 875 blender. In fact, the two Blendtec mixers only differ slightly.

While the Pro 800 is intended for private users and is equipped with “only” 6 automatic programs, the Stealth offers its commercial customers up to 42 automatic programs. In addition, the Stealth has a USB import function with which the user can use saved programs.

In contrast, the Pro 800’s warranty period of 10 years is significantly longer than that of Stealth with 3 years. The professional mixer tested here is particularly interesting for users who value blending as quietly as possible.

Design and Construction

Compared to its brand colleagues from the private customer sector, such as the Blendtec Designer 625 or Designer 725, the Pro 800 is not quite as slim and looks not as sporty either. However, it has even more power (which you can’t hear acoustically thanks to the soundproof lid) and it has to be housed somewhere.

Ergo, the engine block is indeed a bit clunkier but fortunately also firmly installed. This ensures that no liquid can penetrate this area.

There is only a small opening on both side walls as a carrying aid. This is very practical, especially due to the higher weight of 4.5 kg.

In the lower area of ​​the mixer, there is also built-in ventilation that is open to the bottom. Overall, the professional mixer looks modern thanks to the modern touch control panel in combination with its continuous black color, despite the size due to the soundproof lid.

Operations

We are happy to come to the operation of the Blendtec Pro 800 in our Blendtec Professional 800 review because this is a real treat. Regardless of the extent to which a user is technically interested, using the mixer is not only a child’s play but also ensures a lot of fun and satisfaction.

With which device can you still say that you have it completely under control after a minute? This is definitely the case here. The focus is on the central (touch) control panel, which, in addition to the powerful motor, is the heart of the Pro 800 mixer.

On the far left is the on and off switch, next to it a field with which you can choose between manual speed settings and automatic programs. If you opt for the manual variant, 11-speed levels are available using the touch controller. The control panel is very sensitive and reacts perfectly to every touch.

The individual levels can be changed at will while mixing. Several stages can also be skipped without any problems. If you switch to automatic mode, the user has a total of 6 automatic programs available.

To the right of the 6 touch fields for the preset programs, the mixer manufacturer Blendtec also offers us a pulse function (speed level 7).
When using the Blendtec mixer, please always ensure that you only start it when you have correctly attached a suitable mixing jar.

The Pro 800 does not have a shaker sensor and therefore no child safety device.

The Sound Enclosure

The greatest strength of the powerful mixer lies in its soundproof hood. Despite the enormous motor power, the Pro 800 from Blendtec is one of the quietest mixers in the world. So if quiet mixing is important to you, you may have found the perfect mixer for you at home.

The soundproof hood can be put on in a few seconds and then easily opened and closed. It is only important that you always put the blender jar lid on before closing the hood and starting the blender so that there is no unnecessary mess.

The sound insulation does its job well. Only the cleaning is a bit more time-consuming and of course the mixer height increases. So you should measure that in your kitchen beforehand.

Note: Initially, we could only be provided with the Blendtec gastro blender jar lid called SoftLid (without a filling opening) for this blender review. However, we can not recommend this!

Unfortunately, it sits so loosely that the food to be mixed has spilled over several times. And that’s no longer fun. The good news, however, is that the Vented Gripper Lid blender jar lid is included in the original scope of delivery.

We have also received this in the meantime and can report that it fits perfectly and is even equipped with a filling opening. You can add other ingredients while mixing.

The Blendtec Professional 800 has 11 incremental speeds similar to the Designer Series with a capacitive touch slider. Testing with an empty jar on it, the Revolutions Per Minute (RPM) range is 4,080 at the lowest Speed and 29,512 at the highest Speed.

This quiet professional blender is offered with the BPA-free standard container “Blendtec WildSide + Jar” made of Tritan.

This 5-sided blender jar was specially developed a few years ago for green smoothies and especially for the preparation of larger quantities and delivers great results.

Although this Wildside mixing container has a theoretical capacity of 2.7 liters, in practice it is only recommended to fill a maximum of 2.0 liters.

Blendtec Twister Jar (recommended)

A very special Blendtec Twister jar has been developed for very small quantities and, above all, for very tough and viscous food. Please note, however, that you cannot close the noise protection hood to reduce the volume while the tamper is in use. Smoothies

We were able to test the Blendtec professional mixer for a longer period of time. We mixed numerous delicious and healthy fruit, vegetable, and green smoothies with lettuce, spinach, or wild herbs.

Although the selection of the latter was not quite as large as it was a few weeks ago in summer, we have still found enough different vital substance giants with valuable bitter substances and fiber, which are a perfect test for the quality of the Pro’s mix results, especially due to their fiber-rich nature 800 is.

We used the following ingredients for our smoothie tests:

• Fruit, vegetables, and more: including apple, banana, pear, orange, avocado, cucumber, mango, lime, kiwi, pieces of ginger, pineapple, frozen raspberries, and apricots, dates, nuts, cashews, almonds
• Superfoods: including chia seeds, hemp seeds, moringa, camu camu, goji berries, quinoa
• Green leaves/herbs: basil, spinach, carrot greens

The Results

For a professional machine like the Blendtec Professional 800, simple fruit and green smoothies are of course child’s play.

It gets more challenging with green smoothies with fiber-rich ingredients like wild herbs or frozen ingredients like raspberries.

The quiet Blendtec mixer for private users achieves good, but not absolutely perfect results in terms of both fineness and creaminess.

Other Areas of Application

The Pro 800 is a kitchen all-rounder and can therefore be used in a wide variety of applications.

In addition to smoothies of all kinds, he can also conjure up milkshakes, drinks, vegan milk, dips, sauces, soups, and much more. Frozen mangoes can also be made into a delicious sorbet:

As mentioned above, we recommend the additional Twister Jar blender for the preparation of thick consistencies. Homemade almond butter, pesto, or ice cream are then also possible.

Cleaning

The mixer body and especially the control panel can be cleaned very easily. Simply remove the dirt with warm water and a soft cleaning rag immediately after the mixing process. Then it is the turn of the blender, which is comparatively handier with its low height and also fits better under the tap.

Another advantage is the few knives, which are also blunt and therefore not easy to cut. Fill the blender jug ​​up to a third with warm water, add a splash of washing-up liquid and let the Pro 800 run for 20-30 seconds on the medium or highest level.

Then simply pour out the water and rinse the blender jar again with clear water. Only the cleaning of the noise protection hood is a bit more complex.

However, this does not necessarily have to be done after each mixing process. You can remove this lid relatively easily after a little practice. Just make sure that the lid does not fall on your fingers.

If you shift the pressure a bit backward and take the hood off downward instead of upwards, hardly anything can actually go wrong. The hood ultimately consists of two parts that you can take apart without any additional tools. It is best to clean both parts separately due to their weight and size.

However, very fiber-rich ingredients are not 100% perfectly chopped. In terms of its workmanship, the mixer leaves a very high-quality impression. The exceptionally long warranty period of 10 years is another plus point.

It’s a shame that you can’t use the existing USB port because, unlike the Stealth 875 blender, it is blocked for the Pro 800. This could be used to upload your own recipes and greetings.
